Whenever i enter an ice-cream shop, i start telling myself from atleast half an hour before that that i will not end up eating CHOCOLATE ice-cream. I somehow am such a choco-crazy person that i always end up eating chocolate something for dessert. However, that does not mean that i am not an experimental kind of person. I have experimented a lot in sweets- choco chips ice cream, choco crunch, pure chocolate, choco nuts, choco caramel...name it and i have tasted it. But today was DIFFERENT. I actually entered a restaurant called "Old Fox" and did not let myself be distracted by the chocolate flavours. I tasted a couple of ones...rajbhog, crunchy caramel and fig 'n' honey (though the ice cream counter person pronounced it as figure honey :) To people who are choco-crazy like me or maybe any other flavour crazy (i have known people who eat only vanilla ice-cream...they dont know what they are missing in life!), let me tell you about this unique experience of mine. This is a yellow colour ice cream which has pieces of figs (brown coloured) in between of of the yellow ice-cream. I would recommend it in a cone. and it really tastes amazing! Now i categorize people in two kinds- one the very careful ice-cream eaters, who take care that the ice-cream does nt stick to their hands, mouth, head etc and who eat it before it starts melting down, and the second ones (no points for guessing- i fall in this category) the ones who enjoy ice-cream in a sloppy manner. hands, cheeks , mouth all covered with ice-cream and a constant competition with the ice-cream cone which threatens to melt down before you can eat it all. Let me tell the category 1 people to actually try and eat this item the category 2 way. Let your hair down, once in awhile! Try and compete with the fast melting icecream and be surprised by the figs you find yourself chewing in midst of the competition. Yumm! i can still taste it.
And for all the people out there who want to know whether figs 'n' honey actually tops all the chocolate flavours. Then you all will just have to wait till i taste choco crunch, choco caramel, choco nuts, pure chocolate, real chocolate, dark chocolate etc. again and i will be in a better position to compare! Till then Figs 'n' Honey is the love of the week.
Enjoy ice-creams. They melt away the troubles in life.
